Second Grade Concert

The second grade concert is on Thursday, November 3rd at 6:30 pm at Franklin Middle School. The students have been working VERY hard on their songs. They will be singing songs by Bob Marley, The Beatles, and Woody Guthrie. They also have a special surprise performance! The students need to be at the Middle School between 6:10 and 6:20. They will report to the cafeteria. Parents will report to the gym. Students need to look nice for the concert (no ripped jeans and no T-shirts with logos). The concert will be about 30 minutes long. See you there!

2016-2017

Welcome to the new school year! I have lots of great things planned for this year. Each grade will have a concert. The dates are on the right hand side of this blog. All concerts (except Kindergarten) are at 6:30 pm at Franklin Middle School. Third graders will be playing ukuleles. I have started a ukulele club for some of the students, but all third graders will play throughout the year. Second graders will be learning about rhythm notation. This will start after their concert. First graders will be learning how to play the classroom rhythm instruments. They will also be learning about how music is put together and some fun new songs to sing. Kindergartners will be learning a TON of songs as well as some musical terms and how to play the classroom rhythm instruments. It's going to be a great year!

New Ukuleles!

Great News! We have just received 40 New Kala Makala Waterman Ukuleles! Mr. Hazelton entered a contest from the Kala brand music company for a classroom set of ukuleles and we won! We will be using them in the near future (after I get them all to hold their tuning). The kids are VERY excited (so is this music teacher!).
